Paresh Thakkar has wide-ranging EHS Leadership experiences in manufacturing, Research and Development, project and services. He has over 26 years' experience in EHS Management, Coaching, Training, and developing EHS Leadership in the business. Currently he provides H&S support to GE Healthcare businesses in Asia and Europe. Prior to this, he was the EHS Head for GE South Asia Region covering all the GE businesses and Environmental lead for South Asia, ASEAN, Japan & Korea.
Before coming to GE, he spent over 13 years in senior positions at regional and global level at BP (British Petroleum) in India, Middle East, Iran and short-term assignments in South Africa and Brazil.
Paresh completed his post-graduation in Environmental Engineering from IIT Mumbai and received Chevening Scholarship for studies at the University of Manchester. During his time BP India received BP's Helios Award for road safety improvement program in India. In the year 2012, he also received GE's Cotman Award for the best EHS professional in GE. He was also part of the functional committee which developed "OISD 244 standard" for the storage and handling of petroleum products at Depots and Terminals.
